outlander season 8 release updates

Despite the suffering, fans of Outlander have persevered through the latest Droughtlander—that dreadful interval between seasons during which no new installments of Claire and Jamie’s amazing relationship air on TV.

Last but not least, Season 7 will debut on June 16—make sure to mark your calendars for that date! In addition, if you haven’t heard before, Outlander is coming to an end, so you may want to treasure those episodes even more. I’m sorry for delivering the terrible news.

Not so much for the fact that it will be the last season, but rather for the show’s eighth renewal. As Starz announced in January that season 8 will bring the Outlander saga to a close, the TV network will need to devise a fitting manner to wrap up the show without giving away the resolution of the book series—perhaps in the vein of Game of Thrones.

If you’re feeling too down about the impending series finale, keep in mind that the prequel series Blood of My Blood is also in development. I’m willing to bet that it will be quite exciting and spicy, even if I’m not much of a gambler. It will relate the story of the romance between Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser.

What would Outalnder 8 be about?

This is when the picture becomes a little murkier. Again, Season 7 premieres tomorrow, so it hasn’t really begun yet. With 16 episodes, it will be a mega-season, meaning a lot can happen in that time. Furthermore, we have no idea what literature are covered in season 7.

It will undoubtedly make use of the seventh book, but will those additional episodes also be included in the eighth one? Without giving too much away, tensions are high, the Revolutionary War is edging closer to Fraser’s Ridge, and Claire and Jamie are preparing to play their part. The ninth novel was published in 2021, so there may be some season 8 spoilers to be aware of. After the tenth book.

When is Outlander 8 release date?

The good and the bad news is that work on the eighth season has been halted because of the writers’ strike. This was intended to start this year, according to star Caitriona Balfe.

Patience is a really difficult trait to have, even though it’s obviously best to wait for the show’s writers to return and have all the time necessary to finish the scripts (lest we forget how shockingly bad some television writing got during the 2007 strike when writers had to rush and seasons were shortened)! The exact start date of production for Season 8 has not yet been determined, hence the release date is still undetermined.

Expected Cast

There’s little doubt that Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will reprise their respective parts as Claire and Jamie Fraser. Their connection and talent have won over fans, making them the centre of attention in this beloved series.

As the eighth season centers on Diana Gabaldon’s ninth book, it is only fitting to look forward to Sophie Skelton’s commanding presence, as she expertly captures Brianna’s essence. Admirers are excited to see her go with her parents after applauding her portrayal of a strong and brave woman.

It goes without saying that Richard Rankin’s interpretation of Roger is significant. His steadfast love for Brianna and his essential part in the story ensure his reappearance on screen, adding richness and feeling to the narrative as it develops.
