
A man is claimed to have killed his landlord at Yaw Anane, an agricultural village in the Western North Region’s Bia West District.
The victim, named as Kwasi Antoh, who is in his early 60’s was the farm’s owner, while the suspect, Yaw Wotoro, was the farm’s caretaker, according to Augustine Boah, the Assembly Member for the Nafana Electoral Area.
The assembly member confirmed the tragic event to the Ghana Police and other news agencies including Patrick of Wilsben news, stating that Kwasi Antoh, the farm’s owner, visited and expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of the property. He took issue with the farm’s lack of weed clearance, pruning, and other agricultural practises.
Other rumours also circulates that the landlord had been in the village “chasing” the 19-year-old daughter of the farm keeper.
According to reports, Yaw Wotoro, the culprit, grabbed a cutlass, sliced his landlord’s neck behind his house, and quickly fled the scene.
Nonetheless, he was captured by neighbours and turned over to the authorities.
“The body is at the police station in Akatiso; we are awaiting the arrival of the commander and his crew’. says the Assemblyman, this is terrible to hear., “I have served as an assembly member for two terms in a row, and I have never heard of such an incidence.
The assembly member encouraged people in the neighbourhood to report anyone who show suspicious behaviours that may be connected to these kinds of crimes.
“I’ll advise everyone to report anyone exhibiting suspicious behaviour to the assemblyman, the assembly committee, or the recently constructed Bia police station. If you don’t, you might find yourself in a horrific scenario similar to this one day,” he cautioned.
