In Power Book II: Ghost, Cane Tejada, played by Woody McClain, is one of the key supporting figures.
When he shoots a gang boss who got out of control in the first season, Cane introduces himself to us and we immediately realized that Cane wasn’t someone to play with.
When he refused to cooperate with Tariq as Monet had instructed, Cane Tejada swiftly established himself as the show’s main adversary in both Seasons 1 and 2 of Power Book II: Ghost. Because of his envy of Tariq, he made some poor choices that endangered his family and destroyed Monet’s faith in him.
Cane Tejada: Who Is He?
Cane Tejada, the eldest child of Monet and Lorenzo Tejada, served as Monet’s right-hand man at one point. Although he always has the best of intentions for his family, he is a rebel who enjoys an atmosphere of anarchy and violence.
There is no disputing Cane’s heart, but his lack of discipline is likely the reason his father didn’t trust him to lead his organisation when he was sentenced to 25 years in prison on drug and gang-affiliation-related crimes.
Why Is Cane The Family’s Black Sheep?
Cane’s family distanced themselves from him at the conclusion of Season 1 after Monet rejected him. Cane unintentionally struck her during their violent altercation.
Even though Lorenzo is in prison, he still has influence, and he used it to restrain his eldest son. Cane was called to the prison by Lorenzo, who had two guards whoop his butt.
Lorenzo’s final words to him before he passed away were, “Don’t you ever touch my wife again.” Cane was upset, and for good reason—what is a guy if he doesn’t have his family? Even still, it’s difficult to feel sorry for Cane because he acts without hesitation and his bad decisions always find ways and means to catch up to him.
What transpires in Season 2 with Cane Tejada?
This season, viewers came up with a lot of theories. The main one is that Cane, the head of the new crime family he’s trying to get along with, is Mecca’s son and, unbeknownst to him, was once in love with Monet.
That hypothesis, however, was disproved in Episode 4, when Mecca revealed to Monet that he was aware Zeke was their son. Only because his family needs a plug is Cane able to win back their favour in Season 2.
They are unaware that Cane, using one of the oldest tricks in the book, substituted sugar for their product in order to generate that desire.
After being warned by Lorenzo, Monet permits Cane to re-enter the home. Diana, Cane’s younger sister, had doubts about how Cane reconciled with the family after opportunistically offering a new plug.
Lorenzo reassures Diana that Cane is family and that no matter what, family looks out for each other when she expresses her worries to him during a visit to the prison. You may expect Cane to act appropriately now that he is back in good standing with his family.
He seemed to be planning again behind Monet’s back. He hatches a strategy to manipulate Tariq through Brayden after confiding in Mecca, the Tejada family’s new plug.
They previously had Monet’s explicit instructions that they needed to cooperate and be kind. At some point, this strategy to contain Tariq is going to spiral out of control.
Will Cane be sentenced for the murder of Detective Ramirez?
“You made your choices,” Monet said Cane after instructing him to uncover Detective Ramirez’s corpse. The body will be your responsibility if you are found guilty of the murder.
Cane follows Monet’s instructions precisely, but after speaking with Mecca, he decides to blame someone else for the death of Ramirez. That individual is Tariq. I won’t claim that we didn’t foresee this. Cane wants Tariq out of their lives, so what better way to accomplish that than to put all the pressure on Tariq?
The conclusion of Episode 4. The badge of Detective Ramirez is placed in Tariq’s nightstand by Cane. Tariq won’t be that easy to set up. He is Ghost’s son, after all. Some others think Tariq will defeat Cane in a game of his own.
Keep in mind that since the Tejadas are invisible, Tariq is the only method they can transport goods with essentially minimal danger. If Tariq is convicted of a family member’s murder, they return to the street corners!
